It is a well-known fact that heart disease is the main cause of death for people all over the world. About an enlarged heart

Although cardiomegaly plays an important part in cardiovascular health, the condition in itself is not classified as a heart disease, but rather as an indication that there could be something wrong. There are not always symptoms if the heart is enlarged, but if there are, the symptoms can include:

• Shortness of breath and chest pain.
  
• An enlarged heart can also occur from bodily and mental stress after a severe illness or a serious infection.
  
• There may also be the start of heart failure, which impedes the heart's ability to pump blood properly to all parts of the body, so it has to work harder.
  
• Reduced blood flow to the genitals in particular may lead to a lack of sexual desire and erection difficulties.
  
• Leg swelling, especially around the ankles and feet.
  
• Pregnancy, when the heart has to strain to keep fluid down, which tends to build up when pregnant. The kidneys are also put under strain at this time.

Cardiomegaly is a serious condition which needs investigation if you have any of the above symptoms. A lack of sexual desire and low libido may also cause extra stress and mental anxiety, especially if you are not sure of the cause. A visit to the doctor for an examination and tests should be a priority.

An enlarged heart has also been known to signify a serious condition of a malfunction of the heart valve. Left untreated, it can result in an increased risk of stroke, sudden passing out, irregular heart rhythms, or even death. 
More studies have revealed that cardiomegaly may be of a temporary or permanent nature, depending on the cause, such as an underlying condition, and whether it is successfully treated. Successful treatment of a problem has been known to reduce the size of an enlarged heart. Bear in mind that an underlying condition may include medication, medical procedures, and, in some cases, surgery.

Sexuality

Doctors have agreed that if you have had heart surgery or a heart attack, you should be able to continue having sex as soon as you feel up to it. It is normally about 3 to eight weeks, depending on the condition and how well you have recovered. 
Sex is, after all, just another form of physical activity – and some exercise is always good for you. If you can climb a flight of stairs or walk a flat kilometre without distress, you should be fine.
