What is kisspeptin?
Kisspeptin is an important hormone that initiates the release of several other hormones. Studies have shown that it has a secondary function of being able to prevent the spread of cancer in the body. Kisspeptin is made in the pituitary gland section of the brain, and plays a part in the production of estrogen for the ovaries and testosterone for the testes.

Potential problems with kisspeptin levels
Although more research is needed, studies have indicated that high kisspeptin levels in childhood may lead to early puberty. Studies have also shown that some women have high levels of kisspeptin during pregnancy. Early research has suggested that this may be a sign that some women may be at a higher risk of a miscarriage than others. However, experts agree that further studies are needed, as there are no other symptoms or conditions related to high levels of kisspeptin. Some studies have also indicated that in men, insufficient kisspeptin may result in lower levels of testosterone being produced by the testes, and in addition to fertility issues, may also cause weak erections, which can affect sexual encounters.
